Duty Diligence - US import duty and landed margin for Shopify sellers.

What does the app read from my store?

Three fields you may already keep on each variant: cost per item, HS code, and country of origin, plus the price. It reads them; it never writes to your catalogue. No customer data is read or stored at all.

Where do those fields live in Shopify?

The bulk editor (select several products, then Edit) or a CSV export and import can set these across many variants at once. The app's coverage report shows exactly which variants are missing which field.

What does the duty rate include?

The base rate for your HS code from the current US tariff schedule, plus whichever additional layers apply to your country of origin - Section 301 lists, Section 232 measures, and new actions as they take effect. Each rate shows its source and the date it was last checked.

What does "Verified" mean?

Every rate is computed 2 independent ways from the tariff schedule, and the answers have to agree. Where they don't, or where a provision needs human judgement, the rate is shown as Provisional rather than presented as certain. A duty layer that is still printed in the tariff text but no longer collected is only excluded on documented evidence - a court ruling, a Federal Register action or a CBP notice.

Why does a variant say "No rate available"?

That HS code and origin pair isn't in the monitored set yet. It is queued automatically the first time your dashboard loads, validated against the live tariff schedule, and normally has a rate by the next verification run - within about 12 hours. If it stays unavailable, the code may not exist in the current schedule; worth re-checking the code on the variant.

How current are the rates?

The whole set is re-verified against USITC, CBP and Federal Register sources twice a day, at 06:10 and 18:10 UTC. The dashboard footer shows when rates were last verified, and the Monitoring plan flags any of your rates that changed.

Is this customs advice?

No. The figures are informational estimates built from your catalogue data and published sources. It is a screen that sits alongside your own judgement and your customs broker, and the provenance on each figure is there so you can check the working.

What does it cost, and how do I cancel?

The margin snapshot and coverage report are free, with no card needed. Monitoring is $19 a month, billed through Shopify, and you can cancel on the app's Plan page at any time - the free snapshot keeps working afterwards.

What happens if I uninstall?

Everything the app holds about your shop is deleted: the stored session and the shop record. There is no customer data to delete because none is ever collected.

What about the new Canada tariffs on 19 August?

An additional 50% duty applies to 554 tariff lines of Canadian origin from 19 August 2026, and USMCA qualification does not exempt them. There is a free checker on the front page and a plain-English note on what changes. If you have Canadian-origin products, the app will flag the affected rates when they move.
